 Floyd County
is one of the most picturesque destinations along the Blue Ridge
Parkway with over 40 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway within its borders, more than any other county in Virginia.
Included within Floyd's rustic boundries is fully operational Mabry Mill,
one of the most celebratedly photographed locations on the eastern
seaboard.
While still providing a haven for the
determined homesteader, Floyd County shares its still active agrarian
based rural community roots with a burgeoning music and arts
colony as its population expands .

the appreciation of an artist or especially for anyone who is a lover of
nature and who has a preference for a natural, unspoiled environment,
Floyd County provides all of this in abundance.
Floyd County's citizens provide the typical
hospitality inherent in the friendly, unhurried nature of the people
of this unique Southwest Virginia community.
With the Blue Ridge Parkway
creating Floyd County's eastern border,vacationers from all 50 states and from
around the world come to this very special place in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Floyd County is an easily accessible destination.
 As the Blue
Ridge Parkway forms its eastern border and Interstate 81 is only 10 miles
from its western border, any drive to Floyd County
is a drive through naturally beautiful landscapes and
along history's footpaths.
State Routes 8 and 221 intersect in the center
of the town of Floyd (county seat ) at Floyd County's one and only
permanent traffic light.
